Happy Monday, lovelies!
…Yeah I’m sure that’s not exactly what’s going through your mind right now. You’re probably holding a grudge about how fast this past weekend went. Or you’re drowning in coffee because you have yet to catch up on the lack of sleep last week.
Whatever your reason for being pissed off at the world, I’m sharing this post so we can all start to LOVE MONDAYS.
It’s okay to be bummed, but…
Before we get into why I want you to love Mondays, let’s talk about a few things here. First, it’s okay to be bummed that your fun-filled weekend is over. That’s 100% natural. You also need to remember that this sadness means you enjoyed your time or lived to the fullest. Kinda like the saying, “How lucky I am to have something that’s so hard to say goodbye,” the same goes for the weekend! If you don't miss the weekend, it means you didn't have enough fun Click To Tweet
Second, although the weekend is over, don’t let your sadness define how your week is going to start/play out. When you dwell on the past you’re not going to move forward to your maximum potential. Also, how can you enjoy what is in front of you when you’re mind isn’t even on today?
So…What the heck is so awesome about Monday??
I said it. Mondays aren’t so bad when you think about all the good things that come with it.
1. You have the whole day (or all the time after work) to knock out your to-do list.
Not many people make plans on Monday, so why not use this free time to get a ton of items on your list done? I feel so much better when my Mondays are insanely productive, giving me more freedom throughout the week. Being a huge to-do list fanatic, I am all for productive Mondays. I typically try really hard to knock out a decent amount of my weekly tasks by the end of Tuesday. This helps get regular tasks out of the way and opens up time to work on my blog or handle anything else that might pop up.
2. You have a fresh start.
So you bombed that exam last week. Or maybe you had absolutely no motivation for anything. Lucky for you, this Monday (and all the following Mondays) will bring you a fresh start and a new chance to do something different. Whatever happened last week, don’t let it affect how you live this week. Learn from the past and move on. (:
3. You can evaluate what is really making you hate Mondays
There’s a good chance that if you are doing what you love for work, you’re not as bummed when Monday rolls around. Because you live a life you enjoy, every day is filled with doing something you love. Now, if that’s not the case for you and you’re hating Mondays because of work then it’s time for some soul-searching. Maybe it’s time to take a leap of faith and start your career journey that really excites you!Guess what?!? There's only 4 more sleeps until FRIDAY! #letsdothis Click To Tweet
How I get myself to love Mondays
Because let’s be real here… getting out of bed in the morning is hard for everyone. However, once I manage to pull myself out of bed in the morning, I work hard to start not only the day in an awesome way, but also the week. I am a firm believer that the way you think about the day dictates how it will go. This is why, I also try super hard to stay positive!!
Grab a cup of caffeine. How can you really love Mondays when you aren’t focusing straight? While I am getting ready, I love sipping on some chai tea to start off my morning. Plus, when you have extra energy, you’re more likely to accomplish what you need to get done.
Jam to some music (or your fave podcast). Listening to podcasts has to be one of my favorite parts of my morning routine, including my drive to work. When I learn something while completing a menial task, I feel like I’m accomplishing so much! Also, listening to music/ information that interests you helps make the task seem way less tedious (I’m sold!)
Don’t skip breakfast. It could possibly just be me, but whenever I don’t stick to my routine I feel so off balance. Taking a couple minutes to eat a well-balanced breakfast not only helps me stay on schedule, but it also helps keep me healthy. When you skip breakfast, you’re body thinks you’re starving it, causing your metabolism to slow down. And that is something I don’t want!
Did this post motivate you at all? I would love love love it if you shared it with your friends! (:
So what is getting you excited for this Monday?! Stay positive friends, and I promise something good will come!
