Trying to be romantic and plan your next date night for your significant other? What does your romance entail? Dinner? Movie? Flowers? It’s so easy to get caught up in the planning of a date night and forget about the most important thing–the relationship. Spending time together doesn’t have to mean emptying your savings to do something crazy elaborate.
Take away the stress of planning something for the two of you by utilizing the list of cheap date ideas that I compiled for you! Regardless of the occasion, the quality time spent together is really all you need to enhance your relationship.
1. Take a dance class
Not going to lie… learning a classic dance, like Ballroom dancing, just sounds so fun! And it brings extra giggles when you step on each other’s feet!
2. Rent kayaks or canoes for the day
3. Go to a comedy club
4. Visit a winery
There’s a winery practically in my backyard, so it would be fun to go have a wine tasting and stumble our way back to my house if we’ve had too much to drink (:
5. Take a tour of a brewery
Regardless if you’re a fan of beer or not, taking your beer-loving boyfriend would make him oh-so happy
6. Go on a picnic
Pack your basket with some apps and drinks and head to a local park and relax for the afternoon
A little friendly competition never hurt anyone!
8. Make your own wine and cheese night
Don’t have a winery near you? Make your own wine tasting at home!
9. Visit a local museum
10. Drive-in movie
Last summer was the first time I went to one and LOVED it! Make sure you check out this post before you go for an awesome time!
11. Movie and lunch
Hit up a movie for a matinee showing and go to lunch after–a different twist to your usual dinner and a movie!
12. Sign up for a 5k
(or marathon…whatever floats your boat…)
13. Have a game night
14. Be tourist in your own town
15. Go geo-caching
Scavenger hunts are one of my favorite things, so when I heard about geo-caching, it really peaked my interest! When the weather warms up, I really want to try this with Cory.
16. Play with puppies at your local dog shelter
When you can’t buy a puppy at the moment, why not spend the day playing with them and giving homeless dogs some love?! And nothing is cuter than a guy with a puppy…
I love that Cory’s house is far enough away from town so there isn’t any light pollution at night. Looking at the stars on a clear night is one of my favorite things!
18. Fondue night
The Melting Pot will always hold a special place in my heart because that’s the spot where Cory and I officially started dating. However, when you don’t want to spend a lot of money on the experience, why not get your own cheese, chocolate, and other ingredients to have it at home?!
19. Take a pottery class
20. Go on a bike ride
21. Go to the zoo
22. Spend an afternoon at the local coffee shop
Cory and I love spending time at Starbucks together. This time together allows us to treat ourselves with Chai tea lattes (my fave) and Caffe Mochas (his choice) while catching up and just spend some needed quality time together.
23. Go to a water park
24. Bake a new dessert together
Try something a little more elaborate than the usual chocolate chip cookie!
25. Go bowling
26. Ice skating
27. Visit the arcade
Dave and Buster’s, anyone?
28. Visit the aquarium
29. Go on a second “first date” and pretend you just met
Cory and I are doing this soon! I think it sounds so fun to act like you just met and ask all those awkward first-date questions again.
30. Go to a local sports game
So, there you have it! Next time you are the one who is in charge of planning the date, I hope you take a look at this list and take some of the stress off!
What are some of your favorite cheap date ideas??
