Living a balanced life is something that I strive for and keeping my skin looking healthy is no exception. As I have said many times, life is more than what you look like, but if the health of your skin, and appearance in general, gives you confidence, what’s so bad about doing things that are good for it?! And as a lazy girl who loves to save money and time, I’m allll about researching beauty hacks for lazy girls. Because, c’mon. Who actually has time to get enough sleep, look alive, maintain a social life, and do #allthethings expected of us?!
Throughout the years, there are so many beauty tips that my mom has told me that I feel should be common knowledge to every girl, which is why I am sharing these 20 beauty hacks for lazy girls!
1. You are what you eat
It’s no secret that when you eat like crap, you feel like crap and are generally not as energized. Well frankly, when you don’t eat the healthiest foods you also start to breakout or your complexion may change. Getting enough fruits and veggies will not only give you enough energy to get through the day, but your face will thank you too!
2. Always remove your makeup at night
Yep, this is included in this list of beauty hacks for lazy girls because we need to hear it again. 😉 Regardless if your makeup says that it won’t clog your pores, keeping that on your skin all night still isn’t good for it. Letting your skin breathe at night is essential for it to remain healthy and blemish free. Too tired/lazy to wash your face at night? Keep a a pack of makeup removing wipes by your bed! This is such an easy way to get your makeup off with minimal effort.

3. When moisturizing your face, don’t forget your neck
I think this is the one tip that my mom tells me at least once a week…no joke. She always tells me that you can tell the age of a woman by her neck because that ages faster than the face, especially if you don’t moisturize it everyday. All you gotta do is just wipe the excess lotion down your face and onto your neck–simple as that!
4. Exfoliate before applying self- tanner
Self-tanner seems to LOVE those dry spots on your skin, which means that if your skin has some dry patches when you go to add color, you’ll end up with an uneven look (not pretty). Before I self-tan I make sure I shave my legs and work to remove any calluses around my ankles. After you exfoliate, make sure you also put lotion on to make the self-tanner apply more seamlessly.
5. Face masks are great for clearing pores
Face masks are my best friends when it comes to clear skin. I love how there are such a variety that can help your skin in such different ways. I am a huge fan of deep-cleansing masks because they really get in there and clean out my clogged pores.

6. Drink enough water
Since our skin is the largest organ in our body, and our body contains about 70% water, your skin is the first to show signs of dehydration. When your skin is dehydrated, it loses its ability to circulate nutrients throughout it. When your body has more toxins in it than your liver can handle, they are excreted through your skin and clog your pores. Don’t like drinking plain water? Adding some lemon or other fruit to your water will give it extra flavor!
7. If a product claims to be organic, make sure they are actually FDA certified
I feel like since more and more people are becoming interested in organic products, companies take advantage of this and label their products as “all natural” or “organic.” However, a lot of products are not FDA certified, so you want to make sure that the label clearly states this and has the FDA stamp of approval prior to purchase.
8. Use a clarifying shampoo once or twice a week
If you use a significant amount of product or heat on your hair throughout the week, a clarifying shampoo may be something you want to look into. This is not meant to replace your regular shampoo, as using it too much could potentially be harmful to your hair. However, using a clarifying shampoo once or twice a week can make your hair feel revitalized by removing all the buildup in your hair.
9. Vitamin E and Coconut oil are miracle workers on scars
Having had acne for a significant part of my life, I have learned that vitamin e and coconut oil are awesome to put on scars. Because they are oily, I only use this treatment at night and by the morning I notice a huge difference in the look of a scar!
10. Change out your pillow cover regularly
Regardless if you wash your face at night or not, your pillow still contains bacteria after sleeping on it all night. Try flipping your pillow over after two days and then washing it two days after that.
11. Dryer sheets for static-y hair
Whenever my hair is lacking moisture or the air is super dry, my hair really shows it in static. To combat this, I just run a new dryer sheet on my hair and voila! Problem solved.Static-y Hair? Run a new dryer sheet through it to solve all your problems! Click To Tweet
12. Blot oily skin with…what?!
When I am out and about and my skin gets oily, I just hit up the nearest bathroom. I grab either toilet paper or toilet seat cover paper and blot my face. I like using the toilet seat paper better and feel as if it’s a similar quality/texture as rice paper blotting sheets!
13. Conceal your under eye circles in a triangle, NOT circle

14. Dry Shampoo is LIFE
My absolute favorite reasons to use dry shampoo (aka the best beauty invention) are either to make my hair last an extra day (or 2…or 3…) or to simply add more texture to fresh hair.Dry Shampoo. AKA best lazy girl invention EVER. Click To Tweet
15. Keep Bobby-pins in place
Before putting your Bobby-pins in your hair, simply spritz them with hairspray. They’ll stay put all day!
16. Prevent blisters on your feet
Whether it be new shoes or slides that irritate my heels, I always need some help. Before putting these shoes on, I slather on some Nu-Skin (a liquid bandage). This barrier keeps my feet happy all day! This also works wonders even after you have an irritation on your foot and helps heal it quickly!
17. Conditioner as shaving cream
Don’t panic if you ever run out of shaving cream! Use the conditioner you have in your shower instead. I actually use it more than my shave cream!
18. Spray deodorant inside your thighs
In the summer, I always spray dry deodorant on the inside of my thighs to prevent chafing. When I wear a dress and my thighs touch and begin to sweat it’s so not fun!!
19. Exfoliate before lipstick
My lips are cursed with being super dry and always seem to be flaky. Before adding any lip color on them, I scrub a little LUSH lip scrub on them. It’s nice and minty and made of sugar, so it’s not harmful if you *accidentally* lick your lips.
20. In a hurry? Throw on mascara and blush
Whenever I am in a hurry to get out the door, mascara and blush are my nonnegotiables. The contrast on yours eyes and color in your cheeks instantly makes you look more awake and alive.
