With Spring semester here, it’s that time to start talking about how to stay healthy in college, especially with it being cold and flu season. I’m the type of student that absolutely hates being sick and missing class. Not only do I thoroughly not enjoy feeling under the weather, but falling behind on classwork is one of the worst things ever.
Because I have been off school for basically an entire year while I have been co-oping, I know I need to be more strict when it comes to my vitamin routine since I won’t be used to all the late nights studying.
I have always been one to avidly take my vitamins in order to help boost my overall health and help me maintain my everyday routine. A couple of my favorite vitamins are Melatonin and Fish Oil.
I love Melatonin because it’s a hormone that helps regulate my sleep cycle. When we don’t have enough, sleep can easily get broken or restless. Melatonin can help you with occasional sleeplessness. During the school semester, I get so stressed over classes that my sleep schedule tends to get off track due to everything I have to worry about getting done. What’s awesome about Nature’s Truth is that their Melatonin comes in a quick dissolve berry flavored tablet, so even people who have trouble swallowing pills can take it.
I also take Fish Oil regularly. I tend to dread taking Fish Oil though because of the after taste I usually get, which is awful. But I love that Nature’s Truth Fish Oil comes in a natural lemon flavor in order to prevent this terrible effect.
Whenever I need to pick up more Nature’s Truth vitamins, I always make a quick trip to my local Rite Aid. You can also find Nature’s Truth at Walgreens, Target, and Amazon.com
With everything that I have going on in my life, from school to blogging to spending time with loved ones, I often forget to take my vitamins or if I even took them at all. So in order to keep track of my vitamin intake, I use a calendar to help out my busy mind. Today I’ll show you how you can make it yourself!
What you’ll need:
- Plain gift tags
- Washi tape or any kind or decorative tape
- Colored / permanent markers
- 8 x 10 picture frame
- Card stock or poster board
- Sticky hooks
- Dry-erase markers
First, place a strip of washi tape across the bottom of a gift tag. I used three different patterns to make it a little more fun.
Using a permanent marker, write numbers 1-31 for all the possible days of the month.
Next, trace the picture frame, cut the poster board, and insert it into the picture frame
Add 2 sticky hooks on the front of the picture frame.
On the left hook, the current date will be shown. Once you take your medicine for the day, move that date tag to the right hook. Now, you will never have to second guess whether you took your medicine or not.
Using a dry-erase marker, write the month at the top of the picture frame. I love this idea because since it is dry-erase, you can use this method every month!
I love how you can customize this calendar to match any decor in your room. Plus, on a college budget, you can’t beat this adorable calendar!
Now you can easily keep track of your health routine. I love how simple yet girly this DIY calendar is, so you can make it on any budget!
