A trend that I am more than thrilled about for this summer is throwing on a kimono. They add so much to an outfit, but don’t weigh you down in those warmer months. My friends also love having bonfires throughout the summer, so I’ll be keeping a kimono in my car for those cooler nights too. Today, I have partnered up again with Seaside Boutique to share a couple of my kimono style and how you can wear your own! And if you stay ’til the end you may get a discount to go shopping! (:
I tend to think of my style as a mix of classic and romantic, while adding a few current trends into the mix. When I first saw that kimonos were back in style I was so in love with the trend. However, because I didn’t want to go out and purchase an entire outfit that I thought would go well with the kimono, I passed at first. While browsing online again for kimonos, I found several outfits that consisted of simply a tank, jeans, and some sandals to go along with the kimono. Seeing this made me realize that you don’t need to purchase a new wardrobe every season. There’s a good chance that the items in your closet right now are able to be styled a different way to go along with this season.
Like with this kimono, I simply threw on a white tank top and it went perfectly with this kimono! I saw several styles wearing t-shirts with their kimonos, however I didn’t think that looked best with mine. I have found that for me, looser fitting clothing items blend in with the kimono trend more than tight fitting clothes.
I was really excited for this shoot with my mom because it was the first sunny and warm day we have had in a while, so we took full advantage of it. There’s a garden center near where I live and I couldn’t believe I hadn’t been there since I was a little kid! It was so pretty that I think this may be a regular backdrop for my photos for the summer (:
I love walking around and smelling the flowers and was ecstatic when the flowers were even labeled so I knew what I was looking at/smelling. Speaking of flowers, I found this adorable flower cut out tank top at Marshall’s last fall for only $3 (!!!) and was excited that it was perfect for this light pink kimono.
I also plan on wearing kimonos with some of the dresses that I own and with shorts and some other cute tanks when the weather gets a little warmer. Since tassels are another one of my favorite trends for the summer (you can see a post about that here), the fact that this kimono has tassels just made my day.
Alright, now for the fun part (: Seaside Boutique has several different kinds and patterns of kimonos, so if you love these two, you should head over there to find not only these styles, but some more as well! When you use the code “blissfulgal20” at checkout, you will receive 20% off your entire order! Seriously, does that brighten up your Monday or what?!
What is your take on kimonos? How would you style one??
I received product in exchange for this post, however (as always) all opinions are my own. Thank you for supporting the brands that make Blissful Gal possible.
