I have been in love with Masterpiece by Jessie J ever since I heard it on the radio about a month ago…which means I’m a little late to get on the Jessie J bandwagon, but better late than never, right? Not only are the lyrics super inspiring, the beat it so uplifting as well!
I love how she speaks about being okay with her imperfections while striving to be what she wants and get where she wants to go. When working toward a goal, we all have a certain picture in our minds about what we want our end result to look like. During the working process it can be quite easy to get caught up in worrying about what others are saying about us. Why? If they’re talking badly about you without knowing the real you, what does it matter what they think?! I say forget them.
This song addresses brushing off the negativity and working toward who you want to become. I think we all should live like this more often. I admit…I don’t always follow this. I’m human too, and at times it can be hard to drown out the voices that are trying to bring me down. But they say, (I don’t really know who “they” is…) the more you work at something, the better you become at it. So why not work toward not letting others’ negative opinions get you down?
It also really helps when you have a valuable support system behind you. Yes, I did just say to forget about the haters, but we tend to believe in ourselves more when we have at least one person show an interest in what we’re doing. Are you working toward something and feel you don’t have decent encouragement to get you where you want to go? Let me know! I would love to help you and inspire you some more (:
Happy Monday! Here’s to a GREAT week (:
