Happy Monday, friends!!
I love starting off the week with a health-themed post for you guys. This is such a great motivator to really reach and achieve your healthy goals for the week! Do you have any goals this week?! I would love to hear about them.
Creating the best gym bag is a must in order to have a great workout. I love seeing what others take to the gym because sometimes they include an item that could work for me. This is why I want to share the items that I always have with me when I
drag myself go to the gym.
One of my August goals was to eat healthier and hit the gym more often. I am still working on getting to the gym as much as I used to, but these are my gym bag essentials to make the most out of my gym time. If you include all of these items, I guarantee you will have a great workout!
1. Filtered water bottle
I usually always take a filtered water bottle to the gym because I find drinking fountains to be really gross. With a filter, I am able to preserve the environment by not throwing away a plastic bottle after every workout and I feel comfortable that I am not putting so many germs into my body.
Besides…staying hydrated throughout a workout is of high importance! Even throughout the day, I have a water bottle on hand to avoid dehydration.
2. Face Wipes
If I hit the gym in the afternoon after I am done with work, I always use face wipes to get my makeup off. I hate working out with makeup on for several reasons:
1- I really do not need anything else causing my pores to clog up, causing more breakouts.
2- Does anyone (that actually does strenuous activity at the gym) actually not look like a raccoon after their gym sesh? Yeah, I am definitely not one to want to walk around looking like that.
Also, there is a good chance that I will not shower there after my workout. Being that I am still dripping in sweat, I always have face wipes in my bag to feel more refreshed and [somewhat] clean. Just getting that stickiness off my face makes me feel like a new woman!
Okay… not really. But it does prevent my pores from getting clogged with sweat and excess makeup, which leads me to break out.
3. Dry Shampoo
OMG. I am such an advocate for dry shampoo. I probably have about four bottles strategically placed in different spots so I will always have it when I need it.
Since my hair is really fine as it is, I am always paranoid about my hair being greasy anyways. So after I workout, I always (I repeat, always) spray my hair with dry shampoo to cover at least some of the sweat and grease that appeared throughout my gym sesh.
…need I say more?! There is seriously nothing more torturous than working on a machine next to someone that has terrible B.O.
Please don’t be that person.
5. Extra clothes
I constantly have an extra shirt, shorts and a sports bra in my bag because, although it has not happened yet, who knows when a piece of clothing with rip while doing squats?
This also forces me to stay at the gym until my workout is officially done, and doesn’t allow me to use this as an excuse to peace out early. Although I would REALLY like to…
6. Hair ties
Girls, you know the struggle of having a favorite hair tie that breaks in the middle of pulling your hair up. I really cannot count the times that this sadly has happened to me.
7. Ear buds
Mainly because I really really hate hearing the girl next to me huffing and puffing or that obnoxious guy grunting and practically yelling while lifting heavy weights.
Seriously though… why do you need to grunt loud enough for the people outside to here? Like no one else here in this gym finds that 1- attractive or 2- cool. So just stop.
8. Hand sanitizer
Although there are so many disinfectants and towels placed around the floor so you can wipe off your machine when you are done, there are tons of rude people that fail to do this. Also, do you know how germ infested that drinking fountain button or door handle is?
I have heard and read many times, that getting any kind of protein within 30 minutes post-workout will result in the greatest benefits. I have been loving EAS® 100% Whey Single Serving Packets and EAS AvantEDGE Carb Control Shakes. EAS® is the protein supplement that can be added to an already-healthy lifestyle. Being on the go all the time, products that offer increased convenience play a huge role in my life. These new Protein Powder Packets are perfect for on-the-go incorporation of protein in your lifestyle too.
EAS® Protein Powder is located in the pharmacy section of Target stores. I am so sad that there isn’t a Target in close proximity to where I live in Indiana for my co-op. Therefore, whenever I come home, I make sure I take a nice little trip to Target to stock up on everything I need until my next visit.
What is your favorite on-the-go protein? If you have not checked out these convenient packets, you should run to Target now! Use this offer to get a discount off your next EAS protein purchase. The offer is good until October 31st!
