Good morning on this wonderful Spring day! After that long and grueling winter I’m thrilled to wake up every day to decently warm weather. In my opinion, spring rain is better than snow any day!
I am starting this series called Motivational Mondays! What better way to start out the week than with a quote to make you want to hit the ground running?!
So let’s kick-start this with a quote from a Doctor we all know and love…yes, Dr. Seuss! Although he created children’s books, I have found that many of his quotes are applicable for adults as well.
I heard this quote a couple weeks ago from Terri Savelle Foy when she was giving a talk about achieving your dreams. It was after this speech that I knew I HAD to sign up to start a blog as soon as possible! The main topic of her discussion was around the acronym D.R.I.V.E.:
D: Decision- Decide you are going to commit to yourself to strive for what you desire in life
R: Routine- “People are rewarded in public for what they practice in private”
I: Investment- “Much is required in order for much to be given”
V: Vision- “Vision is what takes you from where you are to where you want to be”
E: Everything- “Never give up”
It made me realize that in order to get where I want to go in life, I have to be self-motivated and work hard because no one else will do it for me. We are where we are at in life because of ourselves, so if we want to move ahead, we need to get our butt moving and work harder! Success isn’t just handed out.
Is there anything you dream about that is eating at you to start working toward? I highly recommend reading her short post about achieving your dreams!
Check back every Monday for more motivating quotes to help inspire you to pursue your dreams!
Have a FABULOUS Monday! (:
Sometimes I think the best food comes from little hole-in-the-wall places. We drive past them every day, but we don’t usually notice them. I love how the feeling inside these small restaurants is so intimate and cozy; the surroundings aren’t too loud so you are able to hear your friends/family.
Every first Friday of the month, the city of Canton, Ohio hosts an event called “First Friday.” That part is easy enough to remember, huh? The website states “First Friday is a monthly party in the downtown Canton Arts District featuring themed music, performance and visual arts events and always a few surprises for adults and children. It is primarily a self-guided tour of local art galleries, studios, stores and restaurants.”
Last night, I met up with one of my high school best friends and perused through downtown and all the quaint little art galleries. Isn’t it wonderful to meet up with old friends and it feels as if nothing has changed? As I get older I find it so fun to catch up with old friends and hear about their amazing opportunities and what they have been up to.
So, the nitty gritty:
Our first stop was at Thatsa Wrapp. I went there a couple First Fridays ago with my boyfriend, Cory, and instantly fell in love with the place. It’s quite a small venue that doesn’t take reservations, so get there before 5 or you will have to wait a while for an open table or bar spot. As the name suggests, they specialize in wraps that are SO GOOD.
After this fabulous dinner, we walked around to all the art galleries then ended the night at Carpe Diem, a cute little coffee shop that had live music for the night.
So, the next time you pass a little shop or restaurant in your town, stop in and see what it’s all about! What’s your favorite “hole-in-the-wall” place? I’d love to hear about it!
I’m now up on Bloglovin’ so head over there and follow me!
Hey guys! Whether you found my blog from hearing about from me or followed a link from social media, WELCOME!
I am so excited about making this blog and creating posts that will help you in some way from looking at places I go to motivating quotes post. I had been contemplating starting a blog for a little while now and decided that there is no better time than the present, right?! At first it felt scary and weird to put myself out here on the internet like this, but my excitement for this project has led me to forget those fears.
I can’t wait to start this journey with you and hope you come along with me. I’m also open to any and all advice you may have (:
