Happy National Umbrella Day, peeps!! As much as I would love perfectly sunny weather all the time, rain means that spring is [almost] here and we can start breaking into our fun rainy day style and cute trench coats. 🙂 Andddd with rain comes flowers. And flowers bring happiness… so rain = happy, right?!
Idk bout that, but this outfit makes any rainy day a little brighter in my book!! All around, I’m a die-hard fan of bright colors (if ya couldn’t tell…), so why not bring that into fun rainy day style?! The past couple week have been back and forth rain and snowy mixes here in the great state of Ohio, so I’m just ready to start prematurely dressing for spring!
Last weekend presented some pretty decent weather, so Cory and I ventured to a winery to look around. Is it wrong of me to wish for even more rain so the trees and flowers can start blooming?? Let’s go, Mother Nature!!
Rainy Day Style: A fun, bright trench coat
Guys, can we just take a hot sec to just ogle over this fun trench?! When I saw it on the totes website, I instantly knew I had to have it! I have a classic tan trench (which I loooove), but the pink is so much more me!! Before styling it, I was actually nervous that it would be hair to put an outfit together with it as the focus. Boy was I wrong! Pink can go with just about anything if you style it right.
While there are sooo many different outfits I could pair this trench coat with (and I’m sure you’ll be seeing more of it in the future!), I decided to stick with grays and blues. Luckily, my oh-so-fun rain boots have pink in them, which worked perfectly!
Classic Rain Boots
Whenever I can find a style that is adorable, yet practical, I’m all about it. I love that these boots have a fun plaid print with a pop of pink, but can still be worn with and rainy day style. As much as I would love to have every color of rain boot out there, that just doesn’t work with my wallet…much less the space in my closet! And when I can score a deal on form-fitting boots at DSW (found ’em for like $20!!) you know they’re coming home with me. Aside from pink, I think most of the pieces I own are blue, which is another reason I got them. Versatility is key for me.
Don’t be afraid to mix prints!
I looove how classic my umbrella is, but not gonna lie, I was nervous about pairing it with my rain boots. I thought, “oh no, this isn’t gonna go!” But considering the fact that mixing prints has been all the craze lately, I just went with it. Like I said before, ain’t nobody got the money or space for every different pattern! Plus, when it’s raining, I’m much more concerned with not getting my hair wet than whether or not my boots match my umbrella! #truth.
