Feeling confident is an important part of every woman’s life. I am a firm believer that if you feel confident in yourself, then you will exude confidence wherever you go.
So what makes me feel confident on any given day? Painting my nails.
I know, know. Confidence should not at all be based off appearances, which is so true. But if there is a little activity you do, piece of clothing you like to wear, or item of makeup that you feel you cannot leave the house without, it can greatly affect how you present yourself to others.
Taking a little time for myself also calms me down and eases my anxiety, which in turn makes me feel more confident about my control over my emotions.
During “that time of month,” it makes me feel ten times better to paint my nails a bright red. It may just be me, but I think it makes me feel strong and also empowers me to still reach for my goals, even if I have no motivation deep down inside. How can you not take a woman with red nails seriously??
I have been in love with the Sally Hansen Gel nail polish line. From trying OPI to Essie to every drugstore brand, this is the only one I have found that does not chip within a day of painting my nails like all the other brands.
Bonus: It dries super fast so you don’t have to wait a full hour to get on with your busy life! (PS- I’m typing this blog post 5 minutes after painting my nails and there aren’t any scuffs or nicks!)
While I was at CVS, I saw the new Essie collection and really really wanted to try it again because the metallic colors were so beautiful. So, in order to test out which shades I liked the best, I painted a coat of a couple Essie and Sally Hansen polishes on my nails. I decided to stick with what I knew worked best on me and bought two Sally Hansen polishes.
This is no joke guys… The next day the two Essie polish shades were chipped halfway down my nail, while the Sally Hansen remained unscathed. I only painted one coat and didn’t add a top coat, but still! I wish I could say I was lying, because I really love the metallic Essie polishes.
I am also in love with the new U by Kotex products. There is nothing worse than not feeling confident during “that time” and I have been relying on U by Kotex for several months and have yet to be let down. While I was at CVS, I picked up some of my favorite products.
My favorite is the U by Kotex® Click® because I can easily hide the compact size in my purse or pocket.
What makes you feel confident during “that time”?
